On a sunny Saturday in March 2023, our school became an exam centre for the international Cambridge CAE exams. Ten of our students had volunteered to take part, together with 10 students from several Bamberg grammar schools. 

The Cambridge CAE-Exam (C1 Advanced) is an in-depth, high-level qualification certifying that students have the language skills that employers and universities in the English-speaking world are looking for. 

Preparing for C1 Advanced helps learners develop the skills to make the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries. More than 9,000 educational institutions, businesses and government departments around the world accept C1 Advanced as proof of high-level achievement in learning English. 

The C1 Advanced test comprises:

• Reading Comprehension and Use of English
• Text Production
• Listening Comprehension
• Speaking (in pairs of two students)
